Slide Radio
My car radio keeps slipping into its socket….?
Ok so…
I have a ‘93 Saab 900 with a very NOT original car stereo. Not that the speakers have been vamped up or anything, it’s just been updated and has a fairly nice radio with shiny buttons and LED-display and whatnot. The radio has a black plastic frame around it, but this frame is loose and I’ve only stuck it on with blu-tack.
So this radio likes to slide further and further into the socket it’s pushed into. It’s fairly tricky to pull it out again, and I’ve had to resort to different tools like car keys. Not fun. And the worst thing is once you start pushing the radio buttons, it starts slipping inwards again.
Has any of you guys experienced anything like this, and do you have any neat tips for fixing the problem? I’m not too sure I’d like to glue it in place….
you need to put a metal base to hold the stereo in place, screw it and tight the stereo back on the deck. The base should come with the stereo if you bought it new
